How we organized an Xtra-ordinary influencer event
Is an influencer event the perfect way to start a long-term collaboration? Absolutely! We’ve hosted an unforgettable event for the 9 brand ambassadors of Xtra. How it all started...
With the Xtra app all your discounts are settled automatically with Colruyt Group’s partners. But there is more to Xtra than discount. The app makes shopping easy by offering a number of time-saving functionalities like lists, product scan, fueling, pay with Xtra. With all the new things coming, Xtra wanted to gain more brand awareness on a long-term basis. With this information, our team of strategic experts developed an influencer strategy with a focus on long-term partnerships.
After finishing our ambassador strategy, our team of influencer experts found 9 lovely ambassadors that will not only talk about the brand but also co-create with them for more authenticity.
From a digital native with a passion for traveling to a vegan mom: our 9 ambassadors are very diverse. Perfectly suited to the brand and its different partners.
As we were going for a long-term collaboration, we wanted the ambassadors to become fully immersed in the brand. And what’s better than a garden party to get to know each other, right?

We went the Xtra mile
In an #instaworthy garden near Brussels, we greeted every ambassador with a personalized cocktail. After the drinks and chats, it was presentation time, but not your average presentation of course. We had a fun higher/lower game to share interesting facts about Xtra.
During the game, the influencers were served tasty and creative appetizers, with a link to the app. For example, one of the appetizers was a message in a bottle, where the guests had to scan the message (a QR code) to see all the ingredients of the appetizer. That way, the guests were already warmed up and ready to use the product scanning feature in the Xtra-app!
For a fun and engaging activity, we made our own grazing table. The ambassadors could personalize their part of the table with the food they loved most, just like they can personalize their preferences in the app. While preparing the grazing table, the ambassadors also got to know several products of Xtra’s partner brands. And of course, they got to work with some features of the app as well, to get familiar with the different functionalities.
To finish the night off, we had a cozy dessert picnic where everyone shared their time-saving tips, as this is all what Xtra is about. After a fun evening, with lots of inspiring talks, good food, and happy people, the event came to an end. Every ambassador received a personalized goodie bag full of Xtra goodies and went home with many ideas for creative content.
Kick-off with a bang
The kick-off was a great success. The influencers shared lots of stories during the event, which helped the brand-new Instagram profile of Xtra receive its first followers. As the ambassadors now really know what Xtra stands for and how the different features work, they are even more eager to collaborate with the brand as it is perfectly adapted to their lifestyle. Xtra also received lots of Instagrammable footage from our photographer to remember this fantastic evening, but also to integrate on their social media.
