Twint & Magento: The winning duo to boost your sales

You've certainly spotted a colorful tiny emblem next to a QR code on the payment terminals of your favorite shops and supermarkets — the UBS TWINT logo.

TWINT is Switzerland's leading mobile payment company, having conquered the entire country since its inception in 2014.

Fabienne Bernigaud, an e-commerce expert, explains why TWINT and Magento are the ideal winning pair for increasing sales and achieving success in this article.

Why TWINT?

TWINT can be used to make payments at practically any physical location in Switzerland, as well as on any internet website. This mobile payment option is a tremendous value for Swiss e-commerce sites, as it is known by 83 percent of the Swiss population. Indeed, according to more than 40% of online retailer surveys, the percentage of payments done through smartphone has already surpassed 30%.

How can we help you?

At SQLI, we've integrated TWINT with Magento for a number of well-known clients, going beyond the simple payment method connection. Indeed, the applications options are only limited by your ability to innovate.

TWINT can improve the user experience in a brand model with both physical and digital points of sale by allowing customers who want to buy a product that isn't available in store to order it directly by scanning a QR code in store and selecting to have it delivered to their house or to the store.

You may also utilize the TWINT app to promote your offers, loyalty program, customise the user experience, and conduct private sales, among other things.

Who uses it?

TWINT is currently used by half of the Swiss population who own a smartphone, and 50% of Swiss internet shops accept TWINT as a form of payment. TWINT is top of mind, according to the IPSOS study. No other method of payment is mentioned more frequently as a payment service provider, with 43 percent of the population, 56 percent of those under the age of 34, and 61 percent of students doing so. The majority of Swiss citizens have expressed an interest in using TWINT on a more regular basis in the future.

Three million users were already using the TWINT app as of October 2020.

"With such rapid growth, TWINT will reach the level of credit card payments next year already", said Markus Kilb, CEO of TWINT, at the press conference in Zurich.

TWINT consumers scan QR TWINT codes at store checkouts, online stores, and applications to complete over 11 million transactions per month. In just a year, the number of such transactions tripled.

As a result, it's critical to remember that if you're a Swiss e-marketer who doesn't accept TWINT as a payment method, you're risking losing key sales. We at SQLI would be delighted to assist you in this direction, as we have done with previous prestigious clients.

SQLI, as an experienced partner, will guide you through the entire process, from the simple integration of the TWINT payment method on your e-shop to the development of novel features and user journeys for your brand.
