A connected sporting adventure
The SQLI group will be involved with the Audencia La Baule Triathlon, organised by students from Audencia Business School, on 16th & 17th September. It is one of the biggest sporting events in France with more than 70 companies represented, including SQLI with its 40 teams. SQLI has become the event's digital partner this year, developing the new website and its mobile application.
The Audencia La Baule Triathlon will celebrate its 30th edition on the weekend of 16th and 17th September 2017. Being such a well-known and leading triathlon (swimming, cycling, running), this event organised by the Audencia School of Management and Commerce will bring together more than 6,500 experienced and amateur athletes, competing in 7 challenges, with more than 60,000 spectators on the embankment in La Baule this year.
Traditionally, the opening challenge is the company relay. It is unique in France, with more than 800 teams of 3 relay team members (a swimmer, a cyclist and a runner), and many companies have used the event to create a genuine occasion for "team building" and to harness the power of sport in fostering the entrepreneurial spirit.
SQLI will also take part in the sporting challenge and will send no less than 40 teams of 3 staff members (representing 10 of the Group's agencies) who will take turns in the companies' challenge. Both the effort invested and the pleasure experienced will be shared. At SQLI, this event has helped to create a genuine healthy competition within the company, which has even touched the Group's international agencies, notably with the involvement of the Moroccan, Swiss and Belgian teams.

After taking part 4 years running, the SQLI group wanted to step up its involvement in the event. As SQLI was made the official media partner for this 30th edition, it has used its expertise to assist the Audencia La Baule Triathlon. As such, at the start of 2017 a new website was launched online. The website was designed in collaboration with the Audencia students organising the event and the SQLI Nantes teams handled the graphic and technical side. The website received over 50,000 visits in just a few months.
This partnership has also led to the challenge launching its very first mobile application. A highly anticipated digital tool, which an event of this size was lacking.
On the technical side, the Triathlon's mobile application has innovatively employed Ionic hybrid architecture, combined with data management via the Google Firebase service. It can be set up quickly, offering both flexibility and a high load capacity. It is THE solution recommended by SQLI's experts to be able to develop an Android and iOS application, with on-the-fly data integration and a very broad target audience over a particularly short period.
This innovation has above all had an energising effect on the challenge. The emphasis is on the races, records, and the digitisation of results which greatly simplifies the logistics related to making each participant's performance data readily available.
