SGCIB relied on Urbanys, Groupe SQLI, to develop and deploy good practices in project governance and management.
Objectives: assist with the implementation of project governance practices
SGCIB develops a dynamic of improving practices within its project teams. It does this using SQLI Urbanys's expertise and advice to create a Project Management Office (PMO) team within a division of almost 700 people.
Our assistance: expertise on monitoring and project governance
The intervention by Urbanys consultants involved generalising best practices in project management and aligning projects with SGCIB business objectives in order to maximise their chances of succeeding by implementing specific business indicators.
It also allowed the internal development of a portfolio approach to the activities, i.e.: consolidating a number of complementary projects in order to increase the standardisation of practices and become more effective. It also contributes to improving and adapting the best practices as part of cross-functional missions managed by the team responsible for defining SGCIB's internal methods.
Results: deployment of methods and stronger group best practices
SGCIB projects are chosen based on precise criteria (priorities, project complexity). The assistance allowed project managers to learn the methods, governance rules and key practices that they have to comply with.
This personalised and close support is a major advantage for project managers when controlling their project in an environment of increased governance and investment controls.
The consultants' realisations and actions are evaluated with the client during bimonthly meetings. This monitoring ensures that the client's request is taken into account and ensures that the objectives are fully satisfied.
