Objectives: a flexible and evolving management system to support CMI's rapid growth
Cockerill Maintenance & Ingénierie (CMI) is Belgium's leading equipment manufacturer and supplies leading global players in energy, defence and industry with high technology equipment. During the last 5 years, it has acquired over 20 companies and has considerably grown its portfolio of businesses.
An ambitious project to audit its ICT (Information & Communication Technology) infrastructure was launched in 2006. CMI was looking for a stable ERP software package that meets the company's business needs for this highly strategic context.
Implementing SAP R/3 and BW at an international level
The project consists of implementing SAP R/3 and BW in 35 business units spread across the following countries: Belgium, France, Germany, Luxemburg and the United States
The following modules were included in the scope: FI, CO, MM, SD, PS, CS, HR, BW, PP, QM, PM and PLM.
The project started at the end of 2007. The first units have been using SAP since June 2008. The deployment plan ends with the launch of CLI SA in January 2010.
