SQLI has confirmed the improvement in its second-quarter sales performance, in line with the trends forecast at the start of the year, with an 18.7% rise in turnover (published data), and a near-17% increase like-for-like. SQLI is getting the full benefit of the market recovery with a product and service offering that closely matches customer requirements.
First-half 2010 turnover came to €86.3 million, compared with €76.8 million a year earlier, an increase of 12.4%. Like-for-like (ie, integrating Naga Conseil and Aston Education over the full first-half 2009), growth came out at 9%. Growth is driven by the proven success of SQLI’s Consultancy, Business Solutions and Web Agency businesses, which grew 15%. Over the same period, integration activities saw renewed growth, with an increase of 4%.
The improvement in the sales trend was confirmed by the signature and start-up of several major contracts, including a comprehensive upgrade to the information system used by all Crédit Agricole Regional Banks as part of its Nice project, the training contract signed with the State Pôle Emploi employment service (€4 million for 400,000 man-hours of training), and a contract to upgrade the information system used to manage 20,000 housing units in the State of Geneva, Switzerland – a contract valued at €2.7 million.
Steady improvement in results
While the Average Daily Rate continued to improve as high value added consultancy services gained ground, rising to €491 excl. VAT in the first half of 2010 compared with €475 excl. VAT in the fourth quarter of 2009, the Activity Rate remained close to 80%, compared with the standard capacity utilisation rate of 83%. To accompany its development, SQLI maintains its stringent recruitment policy. At end-June 2010, the group had a workforce of 2,020.
In view of all this, SQLI is on track to generate breakeven current operating income in the first half of 2010, confirming the steady improvement in its financial performance.
SQLI will publish its first-half 2010 financial results on Wednesday 29 September 2010, after close of trading.
